Kineo Technologies, LLC  opened for business in late 2002 and is owned by Dave Goodwin of Beaver Cove, Maine. The original mission for this company was to provide quality services for home owners and small businesses in Maine for "All Things Computer". This includes computer repair, data backups, virus removal, networking, website development and hosting, and home automation and security. Recently, Kineo Technologies has expanded it's offering to include software development expertise in real-time embedded systems and Windows applications.

In December 2000, Dave and his family moved to Maine and bought a sporting camp on Moosehead Lake. It wasn't long before people in the Moosehead Lake region learned that Dave knows something about computers and they would call for help. In late 2002, Dave and his wife Marilyn decided to start Kineo Technologies and offer services to the community as a side business while still pursuing his primary career in embedded system software development.

Dave has been working with computers since the early 1970's starting on an IBM 1620 at age 13. He continued through college to earn a degree at the University of Wisconsin in Applied Math, Engineering, and Physics with a concentration in Computer Engineering and Optics. Dave has worked on every type of computer ranging from small single board computers, handheld PDAs, PCs, minicomputers, and large mainframes.

For many years, Dave worked exclusively for a high-tech company developing hardware and software for use in embedded industrial controls. Before moving to Maine he was the Vice President of R&D for the company managing up to 12 engineers and techs involved in the design and manufacturing of motion control products for factory automation. The move to Maine provided an opportunity for Dave to get back to hands-on software development which he continues to do today.

In May 2009, Dave expanded the mission of Kineo Technologies to offer software development services to other businesses. As such, Kineo Technologies now offers expertise in programming, software & hardware design, and project management. We cover a broad spectrum of microprocessor families, development tools, software languages and hardware diagnostic equipment. Past projects have included device drivers for Firewire/1394 and USB, embedded systems running various real-time operating systems, Windows applications using Visual C++, C#, and Visual Basic, and web applications in the LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) environment.
